TF 2300 C, the intelligent hopper from Kuhn

Targeted fertilization, sowing of cereals, simultaneous sowing, shallow soil tillage, and simultaneous sowing are just some of the cultivation practices addressed by the new universal front hopper TF 2300 C, coupled with a seeder (simple or precision) or a stubble cultivator, which Kuhn highlighted at Agritechnica. The machine has a total capacity of 2,360 liters and is divided into two compartments (60% - 40%). This configuration, says Kuhn, makes it possible, in a single pass, to establish a plant cover with precisely dosed different species, to distribute starter fertilizers or mineral inputs as close as possible to the seed or to protect the seeds themselves from parasites such as snails. Obviously, it is possible to load both compartments of the hopper with the same product. The double hopper can be filled with a front loader or a telehandler. Its low, compact design ensures adequate visibility during road transport and field work. The TF 2300 C is equipped with a new Optiseed cassette metering unit, combined with a pressurized hopper. Each compartment of the hopper is equipped with two metering units. The two products, dosed individually, can be mixed (single dose) or distributed separately (double dose). An agitator facilitates flow in case of difficult products. Replacing cassettes is quick and requires no tools. During this operation the partition closes to separate the cassette from the seeds. Distinctive advantages of this model from the French company include its ease of start-up and management of the calibration test via a special button positioned near the dispensers: once the weight is entered into the terminal, the motor takes care of the rest by automatically regulating the speed of the dispensers. The T 2300 C universal front hopper can be equipped with a load-bearing frame or with a new front packer. The latter includes four 822 mm diameter wheels (reducing frictional resistance); a radial structure to improve the hopper's load-bearing capacity and limit compaction; and an integrated support for weights up to 800 kg.  On the electronics front, the front hopper is managed via the ISOBUS CCI 60, CCI 800 and CCI 1200 terminals, or any other ISOBUS terminal already available in the company. Kuhn points out that the machine's features include an automatic opening and closing system for seeds and fertilizers via GPS (Section Control), independent modulation of seed and fertilizer dosage based on the soil's potential via a prescription map, and the ability to transfer data to the farm management software via Agrirouter.
