Safety and agility, the KARAN sprayer from Kuhn
Kuhn introduces its new KARAN trailed sprayer to the market. This sprayer offers tank capacities of 4,500, 5,200, 6,000 and 8,000 liters and is equipped with steel and aluminum booms ranging from 18 to 45 meters.
The sprayer from the French company can work up to 25 km/h thanks to the new EAGLE intelligent boom floatation control system, which positions and manages the boom according to the type of crop or soil being treated. This technology can operate very close to the vegetation, with a height (minimum of 30 centimeters) that is maintained constant even in variable working conditions and even at high speeds, improving the precision of the treatments. Additional precision is achieved with the AUTOSPRAY system, based on PWM technology that independently controls the nozzles and maintains constant droplet size during operations.
A new range of XEA3 aluminum booms will feature nozzle spacings of 50 cm or 25 cm, enhancing drift control and thereby allowing the target to be sprayed with even greater precision.
The KARAN trailed sprayer comes standard with a next-generation induction hopper, designed to combine ease of use, ergonomics and performance.
It can handle up to 220 l/min of product, thus reducing the operator's exposure time to pesticides, demonstrating the commitment of Kuhn technicians to improving operator safety. For even greater protection, the hopper can be equipped with CTS (Closed Transfer System) technology, which transfers the product to be dispensed from the container to the sprayer tank, without having to open it and therefore without direct contact with the user.
The KARAN has been designed to make the most of the available space: on the KARAN 5200 and 6000 models, only 5 meters separate the hitch from the axle.
Furthermore, the TRACK-MATIC steering axle offers a turning angle of up to 28°, facilitating maneuvering even in the narrowest fields and helping to reduce any potential damage to crops.
When designing the new Kuhn sprayer, the French company's technicians paid particular attention to soil protection. The machine's low weight (approximately 5,000 kg, with a 24 m TR4 boom), high-performance TRACK-MATIC steering axle and VF tires help to minimize soil compaction.
