The performance of the Phantom NewPortTrio articulated sprayer
Martignani continues to innovate in the mechanization sector for the vineyard. With historical product develpments such as 1988s 3-row sprayer (Whirlwind Turbo 3) for viticulture having been awarded for its technical innovation at EIMA, the Sant'Agata sul Santerno (Ravenna) based company is now launching the Phantom NewPortTrio, a new articulated three-row electrostatic sprayer. This piece of equipment has an enamelled steel frame with “Duplex” treatment, support feet for storage and transmission with an oil bath gear multiplier and fan-disengagment device. The trailer has a product tank available in three different capacities (600, 1,000 and 1,500 liters), with a large reclining platform for inspecting the tank itself, a drawbar adjustable in length, axles and wheels (with 6 holes) adjustable for width and height.
Patented structure. The Phantom NewPortTrio's over-the-row structure has a patented kinematic system capable of operating on inter-rows from 1.60 to 3.10 meters with hydraulic control (there is an optional automatic adaptation system for the width of the inter-rows with 'Touch' electronic display). The structure is sensibly sized: 1.60 meters width and 2.50 meters in height, as well as a reduced turning radius. The air duct is flexible, equipped with a PVC coated polyester tube; this solution improves both resistance to chemical and atmospheric agents and mechanical resistance that can stand up to frequent handling. The self-priming centrifugal pump is made of stainless steel with SSM (Special Seal Martignani) mechanical seals resistant to highly concentrated chemical mixtures.
Innovative centrifugal fan. Strong points of the sprayer include the new design of the centrifugal fan with double outlet and frontal air intake with the possibility of excluding the air itself on the external descents; a fan capable of operating with reduced rotation speed, offering lower absorbed power, low noise impact and preventing suction of the pesticide. Calibration is simple, precise and reliable using the graduated scale variable flow stainless steel precision metering valves which allow any active ingredient to be distributed at very high concentration (low volume) or diluted (normal volume). The Phantom NewPortTrio model is for use with tractors with a power of 85 Hp (the power absorbed by the sprayer is only 35 Hp). It has a centrifugal pump flow rate of 180 liters per minute, works at a constant operating pressure of 1.5 bar and is also configured to operate with Isobus and/or precision agriculture systems.
