The Striker is a new line of self-propelled boom sprayers from the manufacturer Caffini in Palù, near Verona, coming up for presentation at Fieragricola. The two models are equipped with 3,000 and 4,000 liter tanks and HBL and HBB hydraulic booms with parallelogram extension of up to 36 meters. These sprayers were designed for big farming operations and contractors and feature autonomy, high performance and innovative technology. The two Strikers are powered by silenced Perkins engines rated at 145 and 185 HP or, as an option, a more powerful 225 HP engine. The transmissions are fitted with a hydrostatic pump by Bosch Rexroth with flux splitter and an anti-skid system that can be activated by the driver. The electronic control for traction and anti-skid safety was developed by the German company on the basis of a specific project drafted by the Palù manufacturer. Moreover, these new Caffini sprayers are certain to be welcomed on the market for their stability ensured by tractor control and the strong hydro-pneumatic suspensions which work independently on the four steering wheels, especially during road transport, as well as for their safety features of a double braking system with a negative hydraulic brake operated by a joystick and the drum on the front axle controlled by a foot pedal. The wheelbase width of the two Striker models can be regulated mechanically from 180 to 225 cm and from 225 to 300 cm and hydraulic wheelbase regulation or automatic widening is optional. The three possible steering settings for the four-wheel steering greatly facilitate maneuvers. Among the other strong points of the new Strikers are ample ground clearance of 150 cm or, as an option, 130 to 170 cm, to enhance the flexibility of the machine, the spacious cab equipped with a seat for a second operator, automatic air conditioning pressurized with activated carbon filters up to the ISO standard and a multifunctional joystick mounted on the armrest and integrated with drive controls and the CanBus and IsoBus computer for the maximum comfort of the operation during long days on the job.
