Full line, plenty of news from John Deere

Tractors, harvesters, combine harvesters: John Deere presents at EIMA International all the flagships of its catalogue. The 5G, 5E, 5R, 6R series enter the field in the tractor segment. The harvesters see the debut of the 9000 series, while the combines in the spotlight are the T560 and S770 models

John Deere deploys all the prized pieces of its collection at the Bologna event. It starts with the specialized tractors of the 5G series, represented by the 5100 GL, which was recently restyled. The main innovations on this model concern the axle, now narrower, and the officially approved cab that reaches a maximum height of 1.86 m, and that therefore does not affect the tractor’s agility of manoeuvre. The displays are also new, as well as the distribution of interior spaces (10% gain) and the optional Deluxe air suspension seat. The standard-bearer of the 5E series is the 5075E, a 2.9-litre PowerTech M 3-cylinder engine with turbocharger and PowrReverser 24F/12R transmission. The 5R series is also on show, with the 5125R which features, like all the other models in the range, an optimized pitch of 2.25 m, a single curved cast frame (the centre of gravity is low to facilitate the installation of the front loader when the tractor is moving), and a turning radius of only 3.75 m (even with the loader mounted). The powerful, low fuel consumption, 4.5-litre John Deere PWXs engines are assisted by three transmission variants that include the 16/16 manual CommandQuad base model, with four ranges and four PowerShift gears for each range, 16/16 automatic CommandQuad and 32/16 Command8, with eight PowerShift gears and an ECO mode that allows a maximum speed of 40 km/h at only 1759 rpm. The 6R series sees the debut of the new CommandPro joystick (it has eleven reconfigurable buttons and simultaneous driving with pedal and joystick), which allows you to reach maximum speed with a single movement, while the ActiveZero technology lets you maintain the speed at 0 km/h until you give a explicit acceleration command. The American brand’s stand will also host a large sampling of the 7R, 8R and 9RX series. In the harvesting machine segment, John Deere offers the Series 9000 self-propelled harvesters, launched in August. Composed of four models with powers ranging from 625 to 970 horsepower, the 9000 Series is synonymous with top performance at minimal fuel consumption, to obtain a grain of the highest quality. The harvester segment sees the debut of another model, the 8600. This is a machine equipped with a standard harvesting channel, powered by a 13.5 litre John Deere PSS engine with 625 horsepower. The setup of the 8600 also includes the XStream crop cracker, which is proposed as an alternative to the Premium John crop cracker. In the combine harvester segment, the highlights are the T560 and the S770. In this case, the most interesting innovations concern the tracks with a larger footprint and an even longer life cycle thanks to the reinforced steel structure. The separation system (Series T) is also new, characterized by steel segments (which increase the yield) and a smaller distance between the drum of the rear beater and the underlying grid (so the separating action is even more effective). The exhibition space of the American company could not be without the Kemper StalkBuster, designed to shred corn stalks directly under the head of the self-propelled harvesters and, therefore, to eliminate the winter habitat of the corn pyralid (reducing the risk of Fusarium in the soil). The stand could not be complete without the Manure Sensing, the system for controlling the spreading of wastewater and cuttings that allows extremely precise treatments based on the type and quantity of distribution (expressed in kilos per hectare) set by the operator.
