TC5.90 Hillside, a high yield combine from New Holland

New Holland presented at Fieragricola the restyled TC5.90 combine now equipped with a new leveling system, larger front tires and the new Harvest Suite™ Comfort cabs mounted on isolation blocks. The renewed TC5.90 technologies also feature cleaner ECOBlue™ SCR Tier 4 power units and an Autofloat™ system for harvesting sunflowers

The totally redesigned TC5.90 Hillside combine by New Holland Agriculture was presented to the public at Fieragricola debuting in style a host of construction innovations beginning with a levelling system with controls integrated in the command console based on the larger CX5090 Hillside to ensure absolute levelling at 38% laterally, 30% uphill and 10% downhill. Also derived from the CX5090 HS is the strengthened and enlarged grain elevator and a strengthened frame, bigger hydraulic cylinders and strong drivelines and gearbox mounted to a heavy traction beam allowing the operator to deploy bigger headers up to Varifeed™ 18 foot grain headers and high capacity 20 foot headers. The grain tank is bigger, with a capacity of 6,400 liters, to make it possible for the combine to work at full production with greater autonomy. The New Holland designers also improved traction, mainly by equipping the combine with larger front wheels, 620/75R30, and for the comfort of the operator the manufacturer came up with the all new Harvest Suite™ Comfort Cab mounted on isolation blocks. Noise levels inside the new comfortable and spacious cab, which locates the operator’s seat in the best position for visibility, have been lowered to 74dB(A) and the rubber isolation blocks also reduce vibrations. On the side of ergonomics is the new multifunction CommandGripHandle™.

The versions of the renewed TC5.90 arrving on the market start at the minimum width of 3.5 meters for farmers who require transport on the open road, limited to this width, as well as those equipped with the Autofloat™ option for greater automated control of the header on uneven terrain while harvesting sunflowers. This kit, compatible with most sunflower headers on the market, frees the operator from making manual regulations of the header height on rolling and undulating land in the field. The system patented by New Holland, the winner of an AE50 Outstanding Innovation award by the

American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers, is a mower with a hydraulic lift controlled by sensors which react to pressure to maintain cutting height and the orientation of the machine according to the conditions of the terrain to avoid bulldozing the land and damaging the mower. The power plant for the updated TC5.90 could be nothing other than the Tier 4A compliant NEF 6.8 litre six-cylinder engine, developed with FPT Industrial, featuring ECOBlue™ Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology. The innovative and advantageous after treatment system, separated from the engine, uses a catalyst to transform nitrogen oxides in exhaust gases into harmless water and nitrogen to increase performance and lower fuel consumption without compromising excellent power and torque. The performance of the TC5.90 is also enhanced by Common Rail technology for improved combustion resulting from high injection pressure combined with 4 valves to strongly improve performance and efficiency.
