New Holland's gas tractor makes its market debut
The T7.270 Methane Power CNG (compressed natural gas) tractor officially joins the New Holland range decked out in Blue Power livery for the launch event. The new model, in fact, will be available to order in Europe starting from the end of 2025, with the first deliveries expected in spring 2026.
The T7.270 Methane Power has been designed by New Holland engineers for biodigester operators who manage fleets of transport tractors, but it also meets the needs of larger agribusinesses and contractors who carry out a variety of operations with heavy implements all year round. The compressed natural gas tractor can run on biomethane from livestock waste, thus closing the sustainability loop on farms.
The engine is a 6.7-liter six-cylinder NEF, updated with a high-performance turbo, a new engine dataset, a specific fuel system and a simplified aftertreatment layout thanks to the CNG powertrain; the maximum torque of 1,160 Nm produces a maximum power of 270 Hp. A restyling of the chassis by New Holland designers has improved the storage capacity of the vehicle. The T7.270 Methane Power is in fact equipped with a 119 kg tank, the capacity of which can be increased by a further 86 kg for a total of more than 200 kg.
Built on the T7 with PLM Intelligence platform, the new New Holland tractor features the innovative Horizon Ultra cab, which improves operator comfort thanks to a larger driving space and advanced suspension. Vehicle management is made easy with the IntelliView 12 interface located in the SideWinder armrest, while full TIM compatibility integrates front and rear implements.
The T7.270 Methane Power benefits from New Holland Intelligence solutions, with digital technologies for bi-directional data transfer between the vehicle and the FieldOps portal. Data is automatically recorded, operators can monitor vehicles, and dealers – with prior authorization – can provide remote assistance.
