EIMA International, the large exhibition of agricultural mechanization held in Bologna from November 9 to 13, has many new features regarding the area around the trade fair centre. To the technical contents of the event – hosting the highest number of industrial patents, prototypes and innovations ever recorded in the history of the exhibition, with 1,900 exhibiting industries from 50 countries and visitors from 140 countries – corresponds a completely redesigned logistic structure. Viability outside the trade fair – that was a critical element of the 2014 edition, due to the increased traffic caused by the flow of incoming visitors – was redesigned based on the specific demands of the exhibition. There will be alternative routes to the Ring Road (Tangenziale – “Fiera” exit), on which the traffic mainly concentrated. Thanks to the creation of a control room, attended by the the Municipality of Bologna, Traffic Police Department, Società Autostrade, Bologna Trade Fair Centre and FederUnacoma (the Italian Federation of Agricultural Machinery Manufacturers, promoter of the event), the traffic will be monitored in real time and the flow of vehicles conveyed to the more accessible exits. Vehicles coming from A14 Adriatica, shall take the San Lazzaro exit or exit number 10 from the Ring Road and follow the signs to the Trade Fair parking area (Parcheggio Multipiano Michelino). For vehicles coming from A13 motorway, the exit is Arcoveggio. Coming from the Ring Road, take 7bis exit towards the parking areas P6 and P8. From A1 motorway, take the Borgo Panigale-Casalecchio exit – Ring Road exit number 6 – and then follow the signs to P6 and P8. From the parking areas, trade fair centre may be reached by private shuttle buses, while specific links are provided from the railway station of Bologna Centrale, the airport and other central points of the city. The loading and unloading operations of materials of exhibitors and transport companies will be more rational and accessible. For the first time, the recently set up “Terminal” will be regulated by a specific procedure for the speeding up and simplification of operations. Before the departure, drivers shall register at www.eima.it , in the dedicated area and buy a coupon with a code enabling the delivery of materials at the Fair during the days of the setting-up and dismantling. Arrived at the Terminal – where is available a help desk – drivers are admitted inside the exhibition area with a limited period of time for the unloading of materials. This procedure, in line with the standard procedures of other important international exhibitions, should ensure more efficiency, by reducing the congestion otherwise unavoidable in such large exhibitions as EIMA International. In order to publicize the new road system criteria, have been prepared briefing notes and maps at the official site of the exhibition www.eima.it BolognaFiere site. Therefore, animated videos present in a simple and attractive way the procedures and best routes for the access at the trade fair. In conclusion, traffic updates will be provided in real time also through the information panels of Società Autostrade, the Italian company for the construction and management of motorways.
