The FMAX transplanter, developed and produced by Ferrari Costruzioni Meccaniche of Guidizzolo (Mantova), is an ideal working tool for the transplantation of different types of vegetables, from tomatoes to cabbage, from peppers to eggplant. The versatility of the FMAX model lies in the fact that it is also suitable for some types of salads, as long as they are in a container and the leaves are already developed. The transplanting machine by Ferrari Costruzioni Meccaniche can work with different types of plugs (pyramidal, cylindrical, conical and also in pressed cube) and is able to adapt to seedlings of heights up to 20/25 cm. It is therefore a technology that has its main strength in versatility, as demonstrated by its ability to offer top-notch performance, either with thin or very long plants or with easy or rough terrain. As the Mantuan company explains with a technical note, FMAX is equipped with an intermittent rotating dispenser (with eight and ten seats). In addition to guaranteeing a considerable stock of product, this enables a maximum yield of 5 thousand plants per hour per unit (manufacturer’s data). This technology - explains the company based in Guidizzolo - allows you to place the plant inside the dispenser with ease and speed. The distance between the rows can instead vary (through a specific mechanical control) between 4,5 and 200 cm. With a power requirement from the tractor that ranges, depending on the models, between a minimum of 35 horsepower (frame with only one element) and a maximum of 70 (frame with 6 elements), the FMAX transplanters are available in a modular version with elements numbering from one to twelve, positioned on a quadruple or reclosable bar.
