New Vanguard engines from Briggs&Stratton

Vanguard is a new range of horizontal engines by Briggs & Stratton designed to ensure excellent performance and long term reliability. A leading feature introduced to these new Vanguard 4.85 kW (6.5 Hp) engines is the simplified start type with three steps instead of the usual five needed: one step to turn the ignition to the on position, open the carburetor valve and regulate the accelerator. To start the engine all that is needed is closing the air valve and a pull on the cord which has been shortened for this model and requires less force. Thanks to the carburating, ignition and combustion system the engine can be started in all environments and seasons on down the -28 degrees Celsius. All components are protected to reduce vibration and noise. Also maintenance is simple due to a new system for managing oil which means the engine can run for 200 hours without changing oil, double the running time compared to the sector standard. The air cleaner is totally cyclonic which reduces the time needed for changing the air filter recommended every 600 hours, again double the time for engines in the same category. The grassroots assistance network in 100 countries around the world means more than 50,000 spare parts can be delivered to dealers in the network within only 24 to 48 hours. All the resources for Briggs & Stratton training and technical support are available online and also in authorized centers.
