Deck plates which automatically self-adjust to the varying sizes of the corn stalks equipped with QuadSuspension™ which absorbs the shock of ears pulled down by the knife rollers, the Twin Chop+ option featuring two counter-cutting scissors chopping knives which finely chop the stalks and the largest auger in the industry designed to move more material faster, more gently, for harvesting bed and standing corn and limiting potential ear loss. These are the key features of Olimac’s prize-winning Drago GT corn head which was unveiled at EIMA International 2016 and came away from the exposition with New Techniques award and is now bound for the  Sima in Paris. The new corn head is available in 4 to 18 row versions and 8 and 12 row folding models and the row components operate at a horizontal angle of 18°.

The Piedmont manufacturer’s technical note said, “This characteristic shows the great importance in the harvest of bed corn because it stops the kernels from being thrown outside the machine.”

Of equal importance are the four clutches, compared to one on most other corn heads, each of which manages specific moves of the head to enhance performance and safety by protecting the knife rollers.

Another strong point to mention are Drago GT’s gearboxes with the industry’s first spiral-cut gears – common in the aviation and automotive industries – to deliver power more efficiently, reduce gear maintenance and significantly increasing gear life. Also the profile of this model is an aggressive and capitvating design with tough black paint job conveying vigor and power.
