Sustainable viticulture in Sicma style
The latest innovations from the Miglianico (Chieti) based manufacturer Sicma focus on sustainable innovation in viticulture. The new inter-row frame of the TECH series, intended for inter-vine agricultural operations in small-sized vineyards at high operating frequency, is a compact and versatile tool carrier that includes several of the features already used on the PRO series. The sturdy and compact frame with rear attachment is available in three widths (750, 1,000 and 1,400 mm) and various configurations: with blade and plowshare unit, for weed control and soil compaction reduction, or with suckering unit, for weed removal and removal of suckers, suitable for both organic and conventional farming. Sicma points to sustainable innovation, emphasizing how the TECH inter-row system is capable of burying fertilizers and organic residues, improving irrigation under the rows and is an effective and eco-friendly alternative to chemical herbicides. The Vignamatic combined cultivator for simultaneous inter-row and inter-vine cultivation is on the same wavelength. The cultivator is positioned in the central part of the frame with staggered plowshares for working the inter-row space and laterally with hydraulically operated inter-row tools for working the inter-vine space. The lateral tools have hydraulically adjustable width positioning to adapt to the size of the vineyard. The main innovation is a special hydraulic system that makes it possible to disengage the plowshares without lifting the entire frame, a useful function when it comes to cultivating the rows of the vineyard alternately. This solution does not increase the vehicle's center of gravity (dangerous on sloping vineyards) or its overall height. Simply hydraulically engage the plowshare anchors at the end of the row in order to leave the next one grassy. This working method maintains the initial configuration of the frame and rear roller. The launch of Vignamatic is also part of Sicma's environmental initiative aimed at reducing the use of chemicals and conserving the soil. The TRX professional flail mower and FGM lawnmower round out Sicma's innovative additions. The flail mower, available in widths from 140 to 220 cm, also comes in a version for tractors from 45 to 90 Hp. An extremely high cutting chamber makes it possible to process large wood residues, and it is equipped with a mowing disc with a sensor for automatic retraction during inter-row work, providing great help for weeding operations. The single-speed FGM lawnmower also features attachment to the tractor's front PTO and rear discharge. For use with tractors with power ranging from 15 to 60 Hp, it is available in four different sizes, from 1,200 to 2,100 mm, and for grass cutting heights between 10 and 110 mm. It can be equipped with optional mulching blades and is particularly suitable for superficial weeding work in the spaces between rows.
