Vortex, heavy-duty harrow with top performance

At EIMA International, the Lombardy company MA/AG based in Casalbuttano (Cremona) will be presenting two models for soil tilling. Vortex is a parallel harrow with independent discs. They are available in the mounted version with a fixed or folding hydraulic frame (from 3 to 5 metres), and in the towed version with a working width of 4 to 6 metres and a transport width of 2.55 metres. At the Bologna exhibition, the Vortex range is represented by the "VTXI 40 P RA" model coupled with a hydraulically folding Michel "RAP 40" front anchor decompactor. The basic structure of the Vortex consists of two parallel rows of independent discs with opposing orientations. Each disc - explains the Casalbuttano-based manufacturer - has a sealed, independent hub with SKF AgriHub bearing. The elements are connected to the frame with a shock-absorbing system consisting of rubber buffers (silent blocks) that absorb stress and allow each disc to work. Discs of different diameters are available; as standard, the tool is supplied with a pair of side retaining bands. In the folding version, the opposing discs are arranged with the innovative "X" system that ensures uniformity of work and allows the machine to move forward without drifts or lateral forces. This feature significantly improves the performance of the implement on hard soil. Behind the double row of discs it is possible to install a tine or flexible blade harrow, which can be adjusted manually, and different types of rollers (cage, ring or Compact) to optimise crushing and soil levelling. With a view to carrying out more work in a single pass, the parallel harrow with independent discs can be "combined" with a Michel-type curved anchor decompactor, called "RAP", placed in front of the disc harrows. The second model launched at EIMA 2022, RAP, is an independent piece of equipment, but coupled with the Vortex it constitutes an effective solution for minimum tillage and conservation agriculture - reads a note from the Cremona-based company. The hydraulic adjustment of the rear attachment to the RAP enables double-layer tillage: the Michel-type anchors decompact the soil without inverting the states to a maximum depth of 30 cm, while the harrow discs break up the soil and handle the surface residue to a depth of approx. 8/12 cm. In addition, the centralised hydraulic adjustment allows the tools to be quickly set according to the working conditions.
