The historic biennial appointment with Fieragricola returns to Verona, now in its 116th edition and scheduled from 31 January to 3 February.

The main sectors of the exhibition - divided into 11 pavilions - are, as always, agricultural machinery, technologies and products for viticulture and fruit growing, technologies and products for breeding, agropharmaceuticals, fertilisers and seeds, agroenergy, digital farming.

Several classic events have also been confirmed for this edition. It starts with the Dairy Show, European Open Holstein, Red Holstein, Jersey Show - now in its XXII edition - an international show-contest organised by Anafibj in collaboration with Aia, FedAna, Veronafiere, the Veneto and Lombard Aras and the patronage of the Verona Chamber of Commerce. The show features the best Italian and European Holstein, Red Holstein and Jersey cattle. All the activities carried out in these spaces are conducted with great care for the welfare of the animals on display and the participating breeders must sign the code of ethics, which regulates the rules to be respected on the subject.

Also confirmed is the Dynamic Show, organised in collaboration with L'Informatore Agrario, which sees machines, robots, equipment, electrified and 4.0 systems for open field and specialized crops in an outdoor area at work. The various tests will be commented by the editors of the Verona publishing house, by researchers of the Department of Territory and Agro-Forestry Systems of the University of Padua and by the technicians of  the companies involved in the various demonstration activities.

Organised by L'Informatore Agrario are other initiatives. The Innovation Award, which provides awards for the best innovations in the large-scale crops, animal husbandry, orchard and vineyard sectors and, from this year, technology startups with a Green Deal mention. Courses in pruning, vineyard and orchard canopy management and dendrosurgery. Numerous workshops and conferences on viticulture, fruit growing, olive growing, biosolutions and robotics.

Other events on the calendar include the seventh edition of the Contractor of the Year contest, promoted by Edagricole and CAI Agromec (Confederation of Italian Agromechanics and Farmers),, which rewards six companies in the sector that have most distinguished themselves during 2023 in their activity.  Another competition promoted by the Bologna-based publishing house is the one dedicated to the Breeder of the Year, which sees the prize awarded to the entrepreneur who has best been able to interpret the challenge of investments in infrastructure, technology and rational management from a forward-looking perspective. New genetic indexes, organic farming, new tools for barn management, new CAP, smart irrigation, and a summit on pig farming are the topics covered by the scheduled conference promoted by Edagricole.

FederUnacoma, EIMA International and Mondo Macchina will be present as usual at the exhibition with a stand in Hall 8 (I3), available to its members and visitors.

The road to Fieragricola 2024 saw a series of presentations of the event also in central and southern Italy. For Raul Barbieri, commercial director of Veronafiere, these meetings "were an opportunity to reaffirm to qualified stakeholders Fieragricola's attention to an agriculture that boasts different production orientations, but all characterized by the ability to express high added value and ensure a return for agricultural businesses, supply chains and rural areas as a whole. We are convinced that the exhibition will be an opportunity to accompany the growth and innovation projects that the farms of Central and Southern Italy and the Islands are defining“.
